The Bucknell University Hazard Communication Program is based upon the team approach, an approach that nurtures mutual trust, a collective pride in our institution, and a genuine concern for the health and safety of the campus community. This program is based on a simple concept that employees have a right to know about the chemical hazards in the workplace. They will also be informed of hazards associated with non-routine tasks and chemicals in unlabeled pipes and stationary containers. Under this program, employees are to be informed of the contents of the Hazard Communication Standard, the hazardous properties of chemicals or chemical products with which they work, safe handling procedures, and measures to take to protect themselves while they are working with these chemicals or products. ![]() The Safety Manager will review and update the program as necessary. PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION: James McCormick, Safety Manager, Department of Safety Services, Geiger Service Building, Room 116 is the program coordinator, acting as the representative of the Vice President for Finance and Administration who has overall responsibility for the program. Directors of Administrative Departments, Chairpersons of Academic Departments, and their staff are charged with implementing this program in their respective divisions.
